History of San Leo
Located in Val Marecchia in the middle of the Montefeltro, in the province of Pesaro and Urbino, San Leo stands on top of a mighty rock boulder, which can be accessed by one road cut into the rock.
When the 3rd century, this small area as a hill sacred to the gods, he reached the Saint Leo decided that this was the ideal place for the spread of Christianity, then expanding throughout the region.

The fortress prison of Cagliostro
The Fortress of San Leo, was disputed by the people of the Lombards, Byzantines and the Franks, at that time the fortress was in fact a safe place where they can escape during the battles.
